Monkey Picked Oolong, a supreme tea with a rich and creamy flavour, is often the highest grade of oolong that an artisan tea connoisseur has to offer their customers.
Legend has it that some innovative local farmers successfully trained monkeys to help them harvest the most valuable and elusive leaves from wild tea trees on the steepest, rocky mountain cliffs that were out of reach for humans. Although widely regarded as a tea farming myth, its interesting name lives on today. It's easy to see why, too. Even to this day, Monkeys are trained to harvest other crops, such as coconuts, and have certainly proven they have the intelligence and dexterity for these kinds of tasks.
Although we hasten to add, no monkeys were exploited in the picking of our tea!
Originating in the 19th century in Anxi (安溪), Fujian (福建) province, China, this exquisite Chinese premium oolong imparts a golden-green infusion with a beautiful, lingering aftertaste of nectar. Apricot, orchid and honey undertones shine through its rich aroma. These bold, dark green half-open balls resemble one another – a prime hallmark of a special oolong tea packed with goodness and divine characteristics that one can be proud of within any household.
A slurp is all it takes for a long and velvety smooth chime. It will lift your day and become a truly spectacular treat for any time, any day.
